The company TAUERNGOLD was named after the famous gold which was being prospected and panned only in the last century in the massif of "Hohe Tauern". In 1891 the foundations for TAUERNGOLD were laid by Ignaz Seeleithner when he opened up his first gold smithy. In Seeleithner's times forms were exclusively made by hand, but his experience and skills soon broadened and the excellent reputation TAUERNGOLD products had established over the years made it possible for his successor to switch over to machine-made chains. The first chain machines were built by hand and skilled workers were trained. In 1962, the brothers Hans and Walter Hell-Höflinger took over the gold manufacture TAUERNGOLD. In 1995 the 4th generation joined the company. The two sons of Walter Hell-Höflinger sen., namely Mag. Walter and Klaus Hell-Höflinger are working in the family business and thus continue the tradition to manufacture products of extraordinary quality. Today, TAUERNGOLD holds a prominent position among chain manufacturers in Austria, if not to say Europe. Not only is TAUERNGOLD the only one of its kind in Austria, the company also preserves proven traditions and techniques. |
